St. Nicholas Church, Belichica Village, 1885 (4-807-003/55 E-ND)
The Church of St. Nicholas was built in 1885 according to the inscription carved in the entrance portal of the northern entrance of the church. The portal is made of three large blocks of carved stone, of which the upper monolithic block is arched. Above the portal there is a rectangular niche with a contemporary icon of the patron saint of the church, St. Nicholas. The church is a monumental three-nave building with a semicircular apse to the east and an additional narthex to the west, which was added in more recent times. The roof is gabled with a small hexagonal dome, covered in more recent times with sheet metal. The church is built with crushed stone, while at the junction of the walls it is reinforced with carved blocks, as is the case with the apse and the cornice. There are five rectangular windows on the north wall, while there are four on the south wall, made of massive carved stone blocks.
The interior of the temple is a three-nave rectangular building, divided by two rows of colonnades with two massive round columns connected by an arch. To the east is a three-story wooden iconostasis with a Large Cross above it.
On the west side is a gallery with a wooden mesh musharabia. The church is partially frescoed. Two scenes are painted on the ceiling in the nave, and in the circular medallions above the columns are painted busts of evangelists.
On the ceiling in the altar is painted a waist-high representation of God of Hosts floating in a segment of the sky. God of Hosts is represented as an old man with a long white beard blessing with both hands. Above his head are two triangles, oppositely placed, forming a star. Above the gallery on the west side of the nave is a half-length depiction of a winged angel floating in a segment of the sky. The Angel of the Great Council blesses with both hands raised. Above his head is a golden halo from which rays of light spread. In circular medallions above the columns are painted busts of the evangelists.
On the north side of the central nave (W-E), a half-length depiction of the evangelist Marko. MARKO with the symbol of a lion, holding a closed gospel in his hand, is painted. This is followed by the depiction of the evangelist Matthew with the symbol of an angel next to him, holding a closed gospel in his hands. On the opposite side, the evangelists have not been preserved.
The monumental iconostasis partition on the west side in the nave completely conceals the altar space. The iconostasis is three-story with a large iconostasis cross above it. The columns, which divide the throne icons and which are arched between themselves and create separate compartments, are made of floral and anthropomorphic carving. The first zone is reserved for the throne icons, the work of Nikola Mihailov from Kruševo (1888). The other two rows consist of small icons of the deity with apostles and above it the festive row of icons by the icon painter Krsto Avramov from Tresonce (1896). The church preserves works by the icon painter Hadzi Anagnost from 1837 and other icons by unknown masters.
